    Hello, I'm Ken Dumas

    In 2019, I bought a sterling silver tea set at an estate sale in Farragut, Tennessee. Knowing mathematics very well, I estimated the value at that time to be approximately $875.00. I chose a well known nationwide company (a large firm which will remain unnamed) and contacted them in New York via phone. These folks were smooth. they were even nice enough to send me a prepaid package in which to ship my items. I thought for certain I was about to receive a fair payment by check. BOY WAS I WRONG!

    To my dismay, I received a call from the company (which is now my competitor) with an offer of $475.00. (please remember that I estimated the value at $875) I flat out refused their offer and suddenly they amended their offer to $625. Already these people inadvertently told me that they were ripping me off.

    THIS GETS WORSE! I again refused the offer and was instantly told that the check for $625 was already printed and that there was no way to cancel. Essentially, they paid approximately $12 in shipping costs and stole $250 from me while originally trying to steal $400! 

    I knew at that time that I would establish ESTATE COINS AND METALS as a fair and honest way for people to sell their metals at a higher price than my unscrupulous competitors.

    I WILL NOT PAY YOUR SHIPPING COSTS HOWEVER, I WILL PAY 88% OF THE SPOT BID PRICE AT THE TIME OF PROCESSING YOUR ORDER.

    If you take your items to auction, you will pay the auctioneer approximately 25% ~ 28% in commissions and the buyer will only offer 90% of the value due to the buyers premium required; then you add in sales tax at most auction houses.

    After all is said and done, you've received around 50% of the true value of your items. Do the math!

    Sterling silver is 92.5% pure silver and metals are traded in "sterling ounces" which equates to 31.1 grams per ounce.

    I pay 88% of the value. 

    Finally, if you go the pawn shop route, expect to receive even less.

    We buy pre 1964 90% silver coins, sterling silver tea sets, flatware, candlesticks, goblets, bullion, sliver necklaces, chains, and bracelets, etc.

    Sterling Silver is that which is 92.5% pure silver. It will be stamped "Sterling" or ".925". "Sterling Silver Weighted" (usually found stamped on the bottom) is created using a thin film of silver over a base "Bakelite" or plaster.

    There are 3 easy steps

    1. Gather items you want to sell and call, text, or email us for a free consultation

    2. Agree to terms and conditions (explained during consultation)

    3. Package and ship your items to us with SIGNATURE REQUIRED (Insurance highly recommended)

    4. We will process your items and pay by business cheque sent via U.S.P.S. (usually 5 to 8 days from the time we receive your shipment)
